Michelle Holland

When most people think of a book, they imagine the object found sitting on a library shelf.

As a book artist I love to explore the book format, to make new objects with non-traditional materials in combination with traditional bindings
I also make books to be used, to tell stories, make notes, display pictures, write memories and music.

I am currently working with Ceramic and Sea Glass, combining two great loves in my life, books and beach combing. The excitement of never being quite sure what is going to come out of the kiln, as Sea Glass never melts at the same temperature, so you get amazing effects like mini rock pools on the front of a book.
